HubbuyCN costs: two payments, and what sits in each
The first payment is the item plus the seller domestic shipping inside China. The second, later, is the international parcel: freight, the service fee, and insurance if you took it. Customs, when it applies, is a third thing and it is charged by your own country, not by HubbuyCN.
We do not reprint rate tables. Freight is quoted from the real weight and volume of your box on the day you ship it, and any number we copied here would be misleading within weeks.
Breakdown
Every line you can be charged, and what moves it
Some of these you control at the moment you choose an item. That is why this page sits next to the picking page rather than at the end of the guide.
| Line | When you pay it | What changes it |
|---|---|---|
| Item price | First payment | The seller. Same photo, different sellers, different price |
| Domestic shipping in China | First payment | Often free above a seller threshold, which rewards buying several things from one shop |
| Payment handling | At checkout | Varies by channel, and the rate is shown next to each option |
| Storage | Not charged inside the free window | The official homepage states 300 days of free storage |
| International freight | Second payment | Weight, volume and route. The single biggest lever you have |
| Service fee | Second payment | Set by HubbuyCN and shown on the waybill |
| Insurance | Second payment, optional | Your choice, worth it on fragile or expensive boxes |
| Customs and tax | On arrival, to your country | Your country thresholds and the declared value, not the agent |
Payment channels are not all priced the same
HubbuyCN offers several ways to pay, and each carries its own handling rate shown at the point where you choose. On a large order the difference between channels is real money, so it is worth a look rather than clicking the first one.
We deliberately do not list the rates here. They are set by the payment providers, they change, and a stale rate on a guide is worse than no rate at all.
Consolidation is where the money actually is
Four parcels means four international legs. One parcel means one, and the per kilo rate usually improves as the box gets heavier. The free storage window is what makes waiting possible: items can sit until the rest of your order lands.
The counterweight is risk. Everything in one box means one customs decision and one thing to lose. On a large order, insurance stops being optional in spirit.
When to ship now, and when to wait
Storage is free inside the published window, so waiting is usually the cheaper move. Usually is not always.
Ship now
- You have hit a weight where the rate per kilo stops improving
- The item is seasonal and you need it this season
- You are near the end of the free storage window
- Prices on the route you want are unusually low right now
Wait and consolidate
- You expect two more orders in the next few weeks
- Your box is still light enough that freight per item looks silly
- You are buying ahead for a season that has not started
- You want one customs event rather than several
Customs
The part neither of us controls
Import duty and tax are set by your own country, assessed on the declared value of the parcel, and collected by the carrier or the post office on arrival. Thresholds differ by country and they have been moving in recent years, so the only sensible advice is to check your national customs page before a large order.
HubbuyCN publishes its own reference page on tariff thresholds. It is a reference, not a promise, and your own customs authority outranks it.
